What is Cognitive Science?
Cognitive Science is an emerging interdisciplinary field that brings together
portions of Psychology, Computer Science (AI), Neuroscience, Linguistics,
Education and many others. Essentially, its goal lies in understanding the
brain, how it
works, and how we might make better make use of it. For a more in-depth description,
visit the UCB Cognitive
Science web site.
What is the CSSA?
We are a tight-knit group of students interested in the current issues of Cognitive
Science. Our meetings take place on the first and third Wednesday of every month.
Meetings are typically an open discussion forum with focus on a particular topic
of interest. Anyone is welcome to attend and participate - if nothing else, it's
a great way to meet new friends.
How do I become involved?
To start, add yourself to our main mailing list now by entering your e-mail address
above, or click here for additional options and instructions.
Once on the list, you'll receive a message containing the topic to be discussed
at the next meeting as well as any pertinent news. Then simply show up! We always
welcome new members!
Also, visit our forum to discuss Cog Sci news, UCB Cog Sci classes and professors, or just to chat with fellow Cog Sci geeks!
