The Cognitive Science Student Association (CSSA) is a community of undergraduates at UC Berkeley who are interested in the interdisciplinary study of cognition. We strive to fill the void created by the lack of a Cognitive Science department on campus by building a sense of community among Cognitive Science majors and those interested in the field. In addition to meeting weekly throughout the semester to plan events and discuss current issues, we coordinate academic events (including lectures by guest speakers, info sessions, and technical demonstrations), social events, and work with University administrative officials to represent the students of Cognitive Science. We advocate the Cognitive Science major by maintaining positive relations and open communication between Cog Sci faculty and students, strengthening ties that will lead to greater opportunities, such as research positions and internships, and providing a crucial synapse for vesicles of communication which will ensure the progressive development of this cutting-edge major.
Meetings are held at: 602B Barrows (map) at 5:10PM on .
If you're interested in getting involved, just show up to one of our meetings! There are no requirements to join and you don't have to be a CogSci major. Just stop by to meet new friends and participate in stimulating discussions!

| President | Kristie Wood Major: Cognitive Neuroscience. Creative Writing- Minor Emphasis: Neuroscience Member Since: 2007
Hi! I'm really ecstatic about the CSSA and all of the totally awesome events and plans in its future. My mission for the CSSA has two core components; one is to provide information and direction for new, prospective, and continuing cog sci students, and the other is to nurture curiosity and interest in all things cognition [despite your major!]. |

| Vice President | Eduardo Europa Emphasis: Psychology Member Since: 2006/04
I'm a fourth year Cognitive Science major with an emphasis in Cognitive Psychology and a minor in Music. My research interests include behavioral economics, developmental cognition and decision-making. In addition to my involvement in the CSSA, I am also an undergraduate researcher in the Child Cognition Lab at the Institute of Human Development.
Aside from my academic life, I enjoy traveling, DJing and tutoring high school kiddies. My guilty pleasures include celebrity gossip, bad pop music (both old and new) and Nutella. |

As a fourth-year CogSci/Linguistics Double Major/Spanish Minor, I've learned a few things. Most importantly I know the location of every girl's restroom in Tolman and can navigate my way easily through the maze that is Dwinelle.
My obsessions are: potato puffs from Gregoire's, college football, and ANTM.
I've recently discovered that I sort of like studying probabilistic models of language learning. Go figure.
I've also discovered that happiness comes in the form of my Cuisinart ice cream maker.
If you have any questions about CogSci or the CSSA or life at Berkeley in general, or have any suggestions for good ice cream flavor combinations, go ahead and email me!

I had two interdisciplinary studies majors so I know a little bit about everything. (Can you tell that I like keeping my options open?) Also, As I'm finally an Alumni and used to be a Super Duper Senior, I'm the go to person for unanswerable questions. Ask me anything!
For a few semesters I facilitated the Cognitive Science in Popular Culture and Culture and Cognition decals. If you want to take over facilitating, email me!
